The mainstream press has been pretty short-sighted when it comes to the tablet PC. Most of them dismissed it as little more than a novelty. And part of me doesn't blame them -- it's not something you can grok overnight. You have to use it, think through your computing habits, and get over thinking that EVERTHING need be converted to text. While conversion is easy and straight forward, note taking, mind mapping, and thought generating tasks may be better in your own handwriting. The OS allows you to search on your handwriting, so there's little if no detriment to leaving your notes and personal data in your script. In fact, it's quite pleasureable.
But it takes time, something few, if any, professional journalists have. And some, I fear, approached their reviews HOPING they wouldn't like it. (Okay, maybe my personal bias is showing, but some of the muddle-headed things that saw print had to be intentional!).
