Microsoft has been trying (in vain) to make a dent in the search business. As part of a viral marketing campaign, they created a search site called www.msdewey.com. It's a search engine with a beautiful host who comments on your search queries...
And it's amazingly funny.
Try these search terms, and you may get some of my favorite responses:
- weather
- video games
- Howard Stern
- holiday
- art
Okay, those are just a few of my favorites. If you're a woman, you should find this amazingly sexist...but still fun!

Oh, now thanks a lot, Cliff. Now I have something ELSE to occupy my time when I ought to be working. ;)
She takes a little long to get the results. The video is a little jerky. But She has some funny responses when you put in President George W. Bush. I like it but I don't think I'll be using it for my regular searches. Thought she will be a great way to occupy my time when I am bored. Good Find!
Kate,
Yeah, it's silly fun...and can be habit forming.
Malinda,
I had that problem yesterday too...in the past it's been smooth as ice. May be additional traffic or network congestion...hopefully they'll resolve the issue.
Man that is a productivity killer.
You know, I have found their search is pretty good in its revamped state.
It'll be interesting to see how this works out for them. I've sent it to about 20 people.
Sid,
Yeah, it's definitely a productivity killer. their search engine is comparable to the site we must not mention, and can be found at www.live.com.
Still alive out there?
Is Clifford under the desk with Ms Dewey? Did his cell phone attack him in a jealous rage when the new computer moved in?
Where, oh where, has he gone?
