Ani at the palace

On Wednesday evening, I saw Ani DiFranco at The Palace of Fine Arts. It was a speaking engagement, and the tickets sold out fast... we ended up in the last row):

While Ani is a musician without equal, in my estimation, her assured, powerful songs are somewhat at odds with her cuddly, public persona.

Yeah, I love listening to her, whether she's strumming her guitar like a madman, reciting one of her amazing poems, or just talking about what makes her tick. It's all good.

Interestingly, she's often as humble and self-deprecating as Stephen King when she's talking about her art. She needed me up there to tell her what's what (:

Three good friends went with me, so what had the potential for being a good night turned out really awesome! Can't wait for the next event...

I bet that was a good show. I have a few of her songs on my iPod but I need to purchase some more.

I have one that she sang on a tribute to Pete Seeger album.

We don't usually have that kind of culture stuff down hyay.

Hey Sid, I may have to check out her Pete Seger tribute song...

Charles, living in a major city has been a revelation to me. I grew up in a small town, and thought that was me. I was wrong (:

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
