Don't say that!

Mom in dark sequined top I'm going to see my mother this afternoon, and I was thinking about her before the disease took over. She could be very, very silly at times, matching me and surpassing me and making me laugh. But there was one thing that my sister and I used to say that would drive her crazy. For some reason, she thought it was so incredibly dumb that she couldn't bear hearing it:

Me: Steak makes you ache!

My sister: Liver makes you quiver!

Of course, we loved saying it and getting a response out of mom.

Sometimes it's hard to believe she loved us as much as she did.

I'm sorry to hear that your mother is ill. Is it Alzheimer's?

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
