Don't say that!

I'm going to see my mother this afternoon, and I was thinking about her before the disease took over. She could be very, very silly at times, matching me and surpassing me and making me laugh. But there was one thing that my sister and I used to say that would drive her crazy. For some reason, she thought it was so incredibly dumb that she couldn't bear hearing it:

Me: Steak makes you ache!

My sister: Liver makes you quiver!

Of course, we loved saying it and getting a response out of mom.

Sometimes it's hard to believe she loved us as much as she did.
