Update: The Coug

Earlier this evening I got a call from the vet. Cougar’s blood test results are partially in. The good news: No kitty AIDS or FIP. Man, that was such a relief, you don’t know.  The doc is waiting for more results, but says that he may see some slight kidney problems or possibly high blood pressure. He said that a blood vessel may have broken and caused the bloody eye.

That said, today Cougar’s eye, while still bloody, wasn’t quite as bloody as it was yesterday. Hopefully it will heal quickly and we’ll find out that he may not need any major care/meds/lifestyle changes.

I’m cautiously happy. Tomorrow, more. Thanks to all the kind words about my little terror’s health.

My thoughts are with you and The Coug. Maybe it be something you can deal with easily.

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
