The Internet has redefined community. That's a fact we're all aware of--from online romances, to roommate and activity partner location, to the sharing of esoteric interests, people are hooking up on line.
One of the online communities I belong to is devoted to tablet PCs, and I'm often amazed at the users' willingness to help each other with a problem or a question. I've learned more about tablet PCs from this site (and, a couple other sites) than I would have from half a dozen books.
The other day I wrote a post about a feature I would love to see in the next version of OneNote. Today, while sitting with a buddy in a cafe, working on my novel, I logged on to www.gottabemobile.com, and it turns out a member named Blademonkey read my post and coded up a solution for me.
It works fine, though it needs a tweak to tablet-enable it. That said, I'm stunned by the kindness of the deed and very, very thankful. What a totally unexpected but pleasant surprise.

That's a very cools sign of the times, I think. Real-time fixes from online people with common interests.
