Obligate hedonists

Cats are obligate carnivores. They eat meat. No two ways about it. Vegan and grain-based diets are misguided at best.

But maybe more importantly, they're obligate hedonists. They seem to spend their days seeking pleasure. A lot of people complain that cat's don't come when they're called. You know, if your cat rarely comes when called, there's a reason for that: it's just not that into you.

Really. It's that simple. They hear you, but quickly figure out the pleasure quotient, and if it's not in your favor, sorry. I've seen my sister call over her cat, who comes to her sporadically, and then when the cat desires more attention than she wants to give, she tells it that's it's got enough, go away now...

Hmm...it's no wonder her cat only comes when it wants to.

Yeah, they're obligate hedonists. You gotta love that. Respect.

Cat's will eat you too. Though they will probably wait till you die. Probably.

My cats are 50% jungle cat, so yeah, they'd eat me. They really love me with a passion, but if the kibble stopped, well, let's just say there's more Fancy Feast in my earthquake kit than human food!

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
