Well Hello, Dolly...

image If you've never heard of real dolls, you need to. They're top of the line sex dolls that can be completely configured ... from head to toe...to be the perfect woman (or man) of your dreams...they come up over and over again in our writer's meetings (don't ask), so I was doing a little research and came across this AMAZING BBC documentary on them. It's insanely curious, fascinating, humorous, and disturbing at the same time. Creeps into PC-13 territory, but if you're reading this blog, you can handle it. Check it out here: http://bunchofnerds.com/2007/07/video/ahhhhhh-real-dolls-documentary-creeps-us-out/

That's a little sad.

I swear, you should throw out your psychology text and teach your students from this documentatry. My god, there were sooo many mental health issues screaming from that documentary, man. From the necessity of intervention, to self-loathing, to justifications, and on and on an on...definitely, a semester's worth of lectures...

I didn't watch the link, but I wonder if it's the same as the television program I watched, "Love me, Love my Doll" - all about Real Dolls and the men who love them. It was fascinating and disturbing.

Kate,

Sounds similar if not the same. This is a UK documentary called "Guys and Dolls", but some of the folks in it are from the US. Maybe most of them. And fascinating and disturbing it is. Strangely, they didn't show anyone with the male Real Doll. I'm guessing those dolls are sold to men, too. I just don't see a woman buying one...

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
