It all changes today?

It’s arriving. Sometime today. And the suspense is killing me. No, not as much as the excruciating anticipation on the arrival of a new tablet PC, nor the latest Stephen King novel, no, not that level of gut wrenching suspense, but pretty damn suspenseful nonetheless. Will it meet my expectations? Will it be life changing? Will I decide that it’s not all that and a sack of potatoes? Will the novelty wear off in the rinse cycle?

Yeah, the washer and dryer arrive today. No more late night trips to the Laundromat. No more turning my underwear inside out until pay day (hopefully). No more sharing my washing duties with the denizens of the night. No more stolen wifi from the Chinese dessert house next door to the Laundromat. No more feeding crinkled bills, time after time, trying to get the change machine to choke up enough coins to get the clean wet laundry dried (hopefully). No more five-load nights. No more trips to the coffee shop, a few doors down, to work on the laptop while things dry.

No more.

And I’ve yet to decide if this is a good thing or a bad thing or just a thing. The suspense though, is killing me. If I weren’t potentially going out for dinner tonight, I’d invite my neighbors down to the garage to christen it – each of us tossing one dirty unmentionable in and letting it do its groovy de-funkifying thing … That would be cool. And appropriate.

I love having a personal washer and dryer. I always really hated laundromats.

ahh, the days of laundromats. for a while, we lived in a house with a washer and dryer. now, we live in a building with washer and dryer in the building.

i kind of used to like the democracy of the laundromat, and the strange folks it brought together.

but i think it's awesome that i don't have to leave the building to generate clean undies. that rocks. ;)

About Me

My photo
This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.
