Okay, I’m getting ready to start work. I work EVERY weekend, so today I’m using some vacation time and leaving early so that I can get to Writers with Drinks on time. And hang with good people, old and new. So looking forward to it. But I realize, working EVERY weekend is for the birds. It makes me angry. Grrr! So I’m thinking, I need a new attitude or a new job. Whichever.

- This is me and one of my two cats. His name is Cougar, and he’s an F1 Chausie. A chausie is a new breed of cat under development. Chausies are the result of a cross between a domestic cat (in Cougar’s case, a Bengal) and a jungle cat (Felis Chaus). Cougar’s mom is 8 pounds and his father is a 30-pound jungle cat. He’s about 16 pounds, super intelligent, spirited, and toilet trained. A writer without a cat (or two) is not to be trusted.

I used to work Sunday through Thursday in my newspaper days. The shifts worked well for writing, but, yeah, the working Sunday was pretty bad.
Makes it tricky to connect with the folks that matter most...
